InnoWave Broadband, INC., Announces Wireless Fast Ethernet/IP Network at Adelanto School District

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 19, 2001 - InnoWave Broadband, Inc., the leader in broadband wireless Fast Ethernet/IP systems, today announced that the Adelanto School District in San Bernardino County, Calif., is now transmitting its data and Internet access network over wireless Fast Ethernet radios from the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based radio manufacturer. The school district has installed six radio links that carry traffic between the administration office and six schools in the overall data network.

The InnoWave Broadband radios were purchased through the Company's systems integration partner, ARCOM, an information technology services company based in Milpitas, Calif., that provides sales, service and installation support.

"Rock solid," said Adelanto School District Technology Systems Manager Greg Torres when describing the performance of InnoWave Broadband's SpeedWave™ 100 radio system. He then added, "We looked at and evaluated all the major broadband microwave suppliers and chose InnoWave Broadband. It was the best in the market for connectivity at 100 Mbps and greater. From an IS administration perspective, it's the simplest to use and offers lots of bandwidth. The SpeedWave 100 system replaced existing equipment that never quite met its claimed performance, and it allowed us to upgrade from T1 quickly and inexpensively."

The SpeedWave 100 was chosen to connect six of the District's eight schools with the main Administration office, providing each school with access to the District's Student Information System. The remaining two schools access the LAN over buried fiber optics. Each radio link interconnects with routers from Cisco Systems.

In addition to Fast Ethernet/IP communication for administrative and executive needs, Mr. Torres reports that the SpeedWave 100 system now brings Internet access into the classroom, and it is instrumental in providing each school with streaming video access to the District's 2000+ video educational library. He added, "This is a real cost savings for us. It saves on videotape copies and saves a lot of time for the teachers. They can prepare their classes and coordinate educational videos without having to drive to the video library to check out a film."

The Adelanto School District (http://www.adelanto.k12.ca.us/) covers approximately 330 square miles and serves 4,400 students in California's San Bernardino County. The District serves K-8 grade children, is on a year-round track schedule, and receives continual recognition for developing educational programs for children with special needs. Groups served include bilingual children, ESL (English as a second language) classes for children and adults, and gifted and talented children, whose classes include instrumental music at the District's performing arts magnet school.

"We are delighted that the Adelanto School District chose the InnoWave Broadband SpeedWave systems," said Paul Obert, senior vice president of sales at InnoWave Broadband. "Mr. Torres and his team did their homework, and their evaluation gives recognition to the operational and cost-saving benefits that our SpeedWave product offers."

With headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif., InnoWave Broadband, Inc., is a pioneer in the development of data-centric wireless broadband technologies. The Company's compact, easy to use SpeedWave microwave radios, with capacities of 100-155 Mbps, combine the best of data networking, telecommunications and Web technologies to deliver Fast-Ethernet, IP and ATM communications in global networks.
