AASs (Adaptive Antenna Systems) refers to the use of multiple antennas on both subscriber terminals and base stations that typically utilize a range of diversity and MIMO (Multi-input, Multi-output) schemes for maximizing WiMAX™ network efficiency. AASs generate multi-channel systems, increasing the carrier-to-interference plus noise ratio (CINR), significantly improving the radio signal and QoS for the customer. This greatly enhances the performance of WiMAX networks, while reducing the number of required base stations and cell sites.
