Or Yehuda, Israel, January 4, 2001 - Floware Wireless Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: FLRE), a leading provider of broadband wireless access (BWA) communication systems, announced today the opening of offices in Brazil and the Czech Republic. Both offices will provide sales services initially, and are expected to provide technical support in the near future. Floware is opening the new offices to support its strategic distribution partners as well as its customers, new telecommunications carriers.
Commenting on opening the two offices, Amnon Yacoby, CEO of Floware, said, "Our sales strategy is to provide our equipment through system integrators, while maintaining direct contact with the carriers. We believe that a closer physical presence will allow us to actively participate in the sales process and to support the integrators, primarily Siemens AG and others such as NEC Corporation, during the deployment of the network. Moreover, the addition of these offices will ensure the continuation of our direct contact with the carriers, enabling us to better understand their existing and future needs."
Floware's Czech Republic office, based in Prague, is well situated to access the entire Central European region, as new carriers prepare to enter the BWA market in countries such as Hungary and Slovakia. Floware has already been selected by two Czech operators, including Ceske Radiokomunikace, the second largest telecommunications company in the Czech Republic, which is building a broadband network initially in 15 cities. In addition, six Polish operators, including ElNet and Elektrim, are currently utilizing Floware equipment.
Located in Sao Paulo, Floware's Brazilian office will give the company a strong local presence in one of the potentially largest broadband wireless access markets. Allocation of wireless licences in Brazil is expected later this year, where Floware is already involved in field trials with local carriers.
The addition of the two offices follows the establishment of local offices in Germany and France. Floware is set to open additional offices in Miami, which will service Latin America, later this year, with longer term plans for additional offices in other major cities in Asia, Latin America and Europe.
Floware Wireless Systems Ltd. is a leading provider of point-to-multipoint fixed broadband wireless access (BWA) systems.
