Alvarion® Enters Agreement with Dataprom to Manufacture Wireless Broadband and WiMAXTM Products for Brazil and Other Latin American Markets

Dataprom invests in new factory in Brazil for production and distribution of Alvarion’s products
Alvarion Ltd., the world’s leading provider of WiMAX™ and wireless broadband solutions, today announced it has entered a production agreement with Dataprom, a Brazilian developer of intelligent technology solutions, to build an Alvarion dedicated production line to manufacture and distribute a range of Alvarion solutions for Brazil and other Latin American countries.
The dedicated production line, located in Dataprom’s new factory in Manaus, Brazil, will be established in accordance and supervision of Alvarion. The products will be considered “Mercosur,” which will allow them to be distributed as per the Regional Trade Agreement in countries such as Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Given the Brazilian government’s dedication to products manufactured in Brazil, intended for the local market, final production costs will be reduced.
Brazil has been an advanced market for adopting wireless technologies to serve the needs of consumers and businesses, and it is now positioned to take advantage of the proliferation of WiMAX to deliver true broadband access.
