Dear Alvarion Shareholders:
Today we announced an important strategic win in North America – a contract valued at over $75 million with Barrett Xplore, Canada’s largest rural broadband provider. The Alvarion team is particularly proud of this win because it was a highly competitive situation and we were able to displace an incumbent vendor.
Also, you may have noticed a new dateline city on the press release. This reflects the fact that we are in the process of relocating our North American headquarters from the West Coast to the Washington, DC area.
I am also pleased to inform you that we have made an important addition to Alvarion’s management team. Effective October 1, Mr. Gadi Bahat, is heading our global customer organization. Alvarion will benefit from Gadi’s extensive background running large-scale customer organizations serving the telecom industry. Most recently he ran Olista, a provider of analytic solutions to enhance operators’ service offerings, until it was acquired earlier this year. For 12 years, Gadi was an executive at Comverse, a world leader in multimedia telecommunications applications, most recently as a member of Comverse’s executive management team. Gadi holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University.
I hope you will join us on November 3rd for the Q3 results conference call when we will look forward to providing further updates on our progress.
Sincerely,
Eran Gorev
