Speakeasy Offers Wireless Broadband Services To Seattle Business Community Using Alvarion's Systems

Major US Broadband Service Provider Pilots Urban Wireless Broadband Network from Space Needle, Seattle Landmark

Mountain View, CA and Seattle, WA, USA, May 4, 2005 � Alvarion Ltd, (NASDAQ: ALVR), the global leader in wireless broadband solutions and specialized mobile systems, and Speakeasy, a leading independent broadband services provider in the U.S., today announced the launch of a commercial pilot for wireless broadband services using Alvarion�s BreezeACCESS� VL from Seattle�s Space Needle, a city landmark. Initially covering Seattle�s central business district, the network will be expanded later in the year to provide broadband services throughout the entire metropolitan area.

Speakeasy will now use wireless broadband to connect additional businesses to its network beginning in June 2005. Speakeasy will deploy numerous cell sites throughout the downtown area, enabling highly reliable connections throughout the coverage area. Alvarion�s BreezeACCESS� VL allows Speakeasy the capacity to target customers needing bandwidth from 2Mbps to approximately 26Mbps.

BreezeACCESS� VL delivers OFDM non-line-of-sight (NLOS) performance, extended reach of more than 20 kilometers (12 miles), high capacity, encryption, and quality of service (QoS) mechanisms to enable operators to deploy true commercial class wireless broadband services today. In addition to BreezeACCESS� VL, Speakeasy is also using Alvarion�s advanced engineering services to plan and design the network.
