Germany’s Kevag Telekom Satisfies Business Customers With Alvarion Access Network
Well-Financed ISP Offering High-Speed Access Through License-Free Bands Tel – Aviv, Israel, February 25, 2003 – Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALVR), a leading provider of Wireless Broadband solutions, today announced that Kevag Telekom GmbH, the largest ISP in Germany’s Rhineland-Palatine region, has deployed an Alvarion access network in the license-free 2.4GHz frequency bands. The state-of-the-art network complements Kevag’s existing infrastructure, giving it a cost-effective way to provide high-speed Internet access (2Mbits per second) with Service Level Agreements as required by sophisticated corporate and public-sector customers.
Established in 1997 by the KEVAG power utility and RZ-Online (the online subsidiary of a major regional newspaper), Kevag Telekom has quickly become the region’s largest Internet and Cable TV Service Provider. By deploying an advanced license-free Alvarion network, with the help of the German Alvarion partner Connect Telekommunikationssysteme, Kevag Telekom has expanded the range and quality of services available to its more than 500 Enterprise and government customers. For example, the Alvarion network brings a new level of speed and security to the use of the data retrieval services of the Koblenz City Archive, one of Kevag Telekom’s high traffic customers.
