Alvarion Announces Third Quarter Preliminary Results
TEL-AVIV, Israel - Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALVR), a leading provider of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) solutions, today announced preliminary financial results for the third quarter of 2001 ended September 30, 2001.
The Company anticipates that revenues for the quarter will be approximately $28 million, close to the low end of the $30M-$40M range which the Company had expected previously. Recently formed from the merger of BreezeCOM Ltd. and Floware Ltd., Alvarion will publish its first quarterly release as a merged company, in which it will provide full quarterly information and additional guidance, on November 12, 2001. The Company will also hold a conference call on the same day to discuss the results.
Commenting on the news, Amnon Yacoby, co-CEO of Alvarion, said, "Despite persistent weakness in the overall telecommunication environment, coupled with the effect of recent events in the US, we are pleased that we nearly achieved our forecast. We were able to maintain our leadership position within the Broadband Wireless Access market, and are encouraged by evidence of substantial long-term opportunities."
