Alvarion Opens Latin American Sales Office in Miami

Tel – Aviv, Israel, August 27, 2001. -- Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALVR), a leading provider of broadband wireless access (BWA) solutions, today announced the opening of a regional sales office in Miami. Cooperating with its Brazil and Uruguay offices, the Miami team will enhance sales activities throughout the emerging Latin American market and will provide technical support capabilities.

With combined Latin American sales of over $14M in 2000, Alvarion is the leading pure-player provider of BWA in that region. Alvarion’s BWA systems have been commercially deployed in Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela, as well as other countries. Alvarion has appointed Claudio Nijamkin, previously Floware's regional sales manager for Latin America, to manage the new office. Mr. Nijamkin was born and educated in Argentina. Prior to joining Floware, Mr. Nijamkin held senior sales positions within the Latin American Telecom market, where he built a track record of sales success.
