Version 5 of Floware's WALKair 1000 System Sharpens Carriers' Competitive Positioning
Or Yehuda, Israel- June 07, 2001- Floware Wireless Systems (NASDAQ: FLRE) today announced that version 5 of its advanced WALKair 1000 Broadband Wireless Access ("BWA") system is undergoing beta testing within the live networks of several customers, and will be available for commercial deployment later this month.
The new version's enhanced features expand the carrier's ability to address the small business segment of the fast-growth SME market as well as to serve the MTU (Multi-Tenant Unit) segment.
Among version 5's new features, the most significant include: Enhanced IP services through a direct Ethernet interface, supporting a full duplex peak rate of up to 4Mbps (megabit per second) with full DBA (Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation) and VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) tagging (useful for Virtual Private Network services and MTU applications). Direct BRI (Basic Rate ISDN), a cost effective solution for providing telephony and data services to small businesses and MTUs. Commenting on the news, Amnon Yacoby, CEO of Floware, said, "In more than 60 installations, WALKair has proven its significant advantages as a prime last-mile solution for carriers targeting fast-growth SME markets. Leading the industry in price-performance, WALKair enables operators to offer uniquely cost-effective and differentiated services that are superior to DSL in terms of bandwidth and quality.
"Version 5 represents an important step toward our goal of providing a comprehensive offering of advanced solutions which enable our carrier customers to address all business market segments. Its features bring a new level of communications flexibility within the range of SMEs and MTU players, while simultaneously reducing the cost of system installation. In addition, the WALKair 3000, scheduled for release toward the end of the year, will answer the higher-bandwidth needs of larger businesses. Our planned merger with Breezecom, due to close in the third quarter of this year, will create a company that addresses the comprehensive needs of a wide range of customers from residential to high-end SMEs."
Mr. Yacoby concluded, "We believe this full portfolio of advanced solutions will further accelerate our momentum, paving the way to sustained growth and long-term market success."
